Considerable space is devoted to the life, health, property, and disability insurance that the self-employed must provide for themselves, with thorough coverage of the consequences of income, Social Security, and Medicare taxes incurred when working on your own. Significant attention is also paid to retirement planning, though Weinstein gets into a discussion of investment strategies and vehicles that would be better left to books devoted to this subject entirely.
