Detailed color drawings depict skeletons, fossils, maps and of course dinosaurs in all their reptilian glory. The chapters are organized under the headings "Living Dinosaurs," which includes a chapter on "Family Life"; "Discovering Dinosaurs," which presents the findings of paleontologists; and "The Ruling Reptiles," which organizes dinosaurs by family rather than by period. A glossary explains all terminology, and an index enables quick reference.
