Jere Brophy is University Distinguished Professor of Teacher Education and Educational Psychology and formerly Co-Director of the Institute for Research on Teaching at Michigan State University. After earning a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, he became known for his research on the interpersonal dynamics of teacher-student relationships, teacher expectation effects, classroom management, and student motivation. He is the author, coauthor, or editor of more than 20 books and more than 250 articles and reports.
