Synopsis
Peter Dare is a man accused of a wrong against his country - a wrong that results in him being forced into house arrest by the Duke of Kent. A wrong against his king that is never charged nor defined.
The mystery begins with the arrival of a financier named Norton at Dare's manor in Yarby and the discussion of the underhanded doings of a man named Johnson. However, Dare and his assistant then leave the confines of the manor in search of the dastardly Johnson and pick up two fellows-in-arms along the way - the wise but often inebriated Dr. Moore and the mysterious Locke, a man with a secret as large as the hills and with as large a debt to pay the Duke of Kent as does Dare.

About the Author
Paul R. Andres began writing "Captain Dare" in 1933 when he was eighteen years of age. He completed it shortly before his death in 1968.
A native of Newtonville, Massachusetts, Mr. Andres completed his bachelor's degree in chemistry at Boston College. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II as a pilot. For many years, he resided in Covington, Virginia, where he was employed by Hercules as a chemist. Retiring to Daytona Beach, Florida, Mr. Andres completed "Captain Dare" shortly before his death. He has two sons; Paul, Jr. and David. "Captain Dare" is his only published work.
