Look no further if you need a book that’s chock full of ideas for enhancing your child’s reading skills and much, much more. Learn to create brightly colored charts to teach the ABCs, numbers, and colors. Experience red days, blue days, and even green days for that matter, which are days when you and your child wear only the color-of-the-day clothes, eat the color-of-the-day foods, and play with color-of-the-day toys. Rediscover the art of making educational toys and creating educational play opportunities such as a store where your child, as the shopkeeper, sells only the colors that are the shape or the color of the day or that can be purchased for whatever cost happens to be the number of the day.
But most of all, keep reading fun! Leave age-appropriate books lying around in various places in your home and in your car. Teach your child that reading is more than studying; it’s enjoyable. And, don’t stop reading to your child once he or she learns how to read. Word recognition is only one aspect of helping a child to become a successful reader and a book lover.
