In 1930, at the age of twenty-five, Beth Deegan, native of Ireland, leaves her employment in London to come to America. She has agreed to tutor the two youngest children of the Bryan family for three months at Tower View, their summer estate in Connecticut. Beth believes that at the end of her commitment, she will find work in New York and acquire a college education.

About the Author:
A first-time author and senior citizen, Ursula B. Johnson is retired from a management position in a bi-state agency. She was born in New York the youngest on nine children. As a young child, she displayed talent as a singer and left college to attend the Julliard School of Music in New York City, but financial considerations necessitated the pursuit of a business career. After retirement, she returned to her music and for thirteen years was a choir director and noted soloist in her local area. Finding some free time provided the incentive for her to write.
