Synopsis

The “COLLECTOR'S copy” is a signed, dated, numbered copy with a letter inserted updating the reasons to finally use this common sense system and to institute a uniquely different FLAT TAX approach. The letter brings current the need to finally start down the road of completing the 1776 American Revolution. Thus, the original intent of the Founding Fathers to create a government subservient to the citizen will finally be realized.

This book outlines the need to radically change how we as a nation of individuals view who is responsible for governing the country. It is our mindset that must change. It is our self-conscious awareness of our relationship to other citizens, our God and our natural self worth that must change. We were not created to be treated as just a number, a statistic, or a useful economic tool of the state. We were created for a higher purpose than that.

The government's purpose is no more and no less than to provide for the national defense, secure borders and enforcement of Constitutional laws enumerated in the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Rights are duties and obligations of each citizen to use wisely. Therefore government entities (federal, state and local) need only enough money to cover their administrated duties, NOT to redirect wealth by taxing you more just to give it to your neighbor. If you want to help your neighbor or worthwhile charity, YOU take the money out of your pocket and give it to them.

When reading and analyzing this book's tax plan keep in mind the above which firmly believes in simplifying the process of taxing citizens only the limited amount necessary to pay for a civil society where governance is from the bottom up not top down.

About the Author

William J. Hillery was born in Buffalo, New York, the son of a steelworker and the oldest of six children. In college, the author majored in accounting, with a minor in philosophy. He went on to serve four years in the U.S. Navy, prior to returning to civilian life and earning a master's degree in taxation. He also earned a California CPA license and spent the next 17 years in accounting. Ten of those years were spent managing his CPA practice servicing small business in a variety of industries. This experience and all his life experiences up to this point resulted in writing and publishing "The Last American Revolution". Next, for about 25 years, he worked in insurance sales, farm accounting, grocery retail, auto dealership accounting, gaming industry accounting and federal contractor accounting. Taking another look at his original plan he realized a sad truth. Regrettably, nothing has changed under the tax code except to get progressively worse. The government is bloated out of control, be it the number of government employees, regulations or abuse of power through its unelected agencies. Time to go after the beast again and this time win, God willing.
