For several years, Harper's magazine has been publishing its Forum, a discussion (either oral or written) conducted by intellectuals, media people, writers, and various other interesting types. This is a lively collection of some of the best of those Forums. The participants agree and disagree on a variety of topics ranging from computer hacking (this discussion was conducted by computer, naturally) to suggestions for updated versions of Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart." Some of the Forums are lighthearted and amusing, some more serious. A good purchase for most public libraries.
