From math-anxious job seeker to chief of the Governments Division at the U.S. Bureau of the Census, Green managed a major skill and attitude adjustment. His introduction explains how he made that jump on his return to college, where he eased his math anxiety and mastered the curriculum. In direct language, he explains to parents the basic rules of math that children must absorb before progressing into each new area. There is little easing or anecdotal fare, just straightforward facts and a few samples. A great review for those with waning skills, but not exactly soothing for the truly anxious or untutored.
