Howard W. Stone, Ph.D., is a psychologist, marriage and family therapist, a pastoral counselor, the author or editor of many books in the Fortress Press Creative Pastoral Care and Counseling series, and a professor emeritus at Texas Christian University. Among his many influetial books are Brief Pastoral Counseling (1993, 978-0-8066-2720- 1), Crisis Counseling (1994, 978-0-8006-2760-7), Depression and Hope (1998, 978-0-8006-3139-0), and (edited) Strategies for Brief Pastoral Counseling (2001, 978-0-8006-3299-1).
