Gr. 2-5. Children who enjoy the puzzle pages in children's magazines will also enjoy this upbeat collection of visual brainteasers. Each is presented on a single- or double-page spread, briefly explained, and illustrated with deft, black-and-white drawings. A few of the activities may invite writing in the book, since they involve connecting dots and following paths; however, most of the problems can be solved with the eyes alone. Typical teasers ask readers which of four cases a certain fountain pen will fit in, or which of the nine bunnies pictured have identical ears. Some of the puzzles are quite difficult, requiring careful attention to minute details. A good source of visual discrimination puzzles. Carolyn Phelan
