Reviews

This is both a manual of basic methods and a project book. Scherer emphasizes a simplified casework approach to furniture making, employing simple joinery methods and extensive use of plywood and particle board. He does a thorough job of covering such topics as setting up shop, selecting materials, and mastering basic cutting and jointing techniques. Projects include chests, desks, bookcases, and entertainment centers. All plans are easy to follow and amply illustrated with clear line drawings and photos. The one drawback is the pedestrian nature of many of the project pieces. For public library collections as demand warrants.
