From Booklist:
PreS. There are plenty of good-night stories around, but parents may have a particular reason for appreciating this one: it's short. Little Bear can't go to bed because, "I don't have any Sleepy yet." This leads to a hunt-and-seek around the house, which Papa Bear uses to get his son into the bath, into his pajamas, etc. Sleepy isn't found in the stories Papa reads, but Little Bear gets into bed and is soon asleep. The friendly watercolor artwork gives a nice sense of both the child-parent relationship and familiar nighttime routines. Personalizing drowsiness into an unseen "Sleepy" may be confusing for some young ones at first, but they'll soon grasp the concept in the story and for real. Ilene Cooper
