Synopsis
A gentle and reassuring story follows Little Bunny as he helps Mama and Papa get everything ready for the arrival of the new baby, and when the baby finally comes, Little Bunny is quite taken with Kale, his new little brother, but when Kale comes home from the hospital, Little Bunny questions his feelings especially since Kale is smelly, noisy, and takes up a lot of Mama's time.

Ages 3-5. Children who know Little Bunny from his previous books, such as Dry Days, Wet Nights (1996) and Little Bunny's Pacifier Plan (1999), will expect this young Everybunny to reflect their own concerns as he deals with his newest challenge. And so he does. Well prepared for the birth of his brother, Little Bunny loves him at first sight. Soon, though, he complains about changes in the household, from the sound of crying and the smell of diapers to the necessity of quiet during his brother's nap. Little Bunny's understanding parents acknowledge every comment and find ways to accommodate him as he adjusts to life with brother. Kindness infuses both writing and artwork in this supportive book for siblings of babies. Boelts has a good ear for the feelings of a preschooler, and if the parents seem a little idealized, they serve as both role models and magnets of hope for the book's potential readers and listeners.
