Review:
From reviews of the First Edition: "This major textbook will be a standard reference in medical psychiatry."--The New England Journal of Medicine

"This superb book fully achieves the authors' stated goals of further developing a comprehensive reference text on the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric disorders in medically ill patients, consolidating the literature relevant to this area and presenting this information in readily
accessible and useful form."--Psychiatric Times

"I strongly urge you to purchase this wonderful text. Drs. Alan Stoudemire and Barry Fogel have produced a first-rate book that identifies the boundaries and future directions for medical psychiatry."--American Journal of Psychiatry

"A real strength of the textbook is the provision of enough medical and neurological background to give the psychiatrist an adequate understanding of his patient's disease and an awareness of how the psychiatrist might usefully intervene. The writers of the chapters appear very knowledgeable
about their respective fields, yet render complex issues clearly."--The American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry

"It is to the editors' credit that at the clinical level they demonstrate their pragmatic and healthy appreciation of many forms of psychiatric treatment--behavioral therapy, family work, and psychodynamic formulation and treatment, as well as somatic therapy...It is innovative, particularly
in its specific disease section, and it contains a wealth of information that the psychiatrist who works in a medical setting needs on an everyday basis."--General Hospital Psychiatry
