This book makes redaction the editing done on the Old Testament before it was actually written down criticism accessible and exciting for everyone through analysis of the transmission of Hosea, from original prophetic proclamation to scribal transmission to Josianic redactor to exilic redactor. Doorley shows differing ideas of who Yahweh is, who Israel is, what Israel's sin is, and what is required of Israel, as well as how this contributes to the meaning of Hosea for today. Highly recommended for undergraduate, large seminary, and large public libraries.
