In The Seven Commandments of Discipleship, eminent theologian and writer Frank P. DeSiano examines our relationship with God within the rubric of evangelizing discipleship. He begins with the question: "What does God ask of us?" He answers: He asks us "to be disciples"―to follow Jesus with our hearts, our minds and our strength, within a community of faith, so that we may know the fullness of Christian life. The author expands on his idea in seven cogent and succinct chapters that emphasize, for example, the commandments of fidelity and worship, bearing witness and sharing burdens, at the heart of which lies the commandment of evangelization―the joyous proclamation of God's Good News in Jesus. The author performs an important service by casting an illuminating light on a question fundamental to all Christians. Written in a clear and inviting style, this book is recommended for: · the individual reader looking for a code of Christian conduct. · lay pastoral formation-parish councils, and clergy of all faiths. · discussion groups. It includes questions for reflection and suggestions for Scripture study. †
