Synopsis

This is a book of paragraphs to ponder―a series of reflections that will prompt personal prayer and shared communication for those who have freely chosen to shape their identity in and through the marriage commitment. It is designed to be read aloud by married couples and those on their way to Christian marriage. Sharing with one another the ideas (and ideals) presented here, both spouses and engaged couples will better understand the depth and beauty of the calling that is theirs. Based on the premise “the stronger the promise, the stronger will be the society within which the marriage promise is made,” this book offers a series of concise, thought-provoking chapters primarily written as helpful reflections for engaged couples preparing for Christian marriage―and for married couples as well. The author’s personal experience of assisting couples with marriage preparation and celebrating weddings also provides helpful material for clergy seeking ideas for wedding homilies along with a wide range of topics for inclusion in marriage preparation programs. †
