Synopsis
When adults "count their blessings," they usually count those things that are beyond a child's understanding. This book helps children learn that everything is a blessing, especially ordinary things like puddles, hugs, and snuggly toys. This is an early lesson in gratitude, optimism, and the abundance of life's riches that are hidden in the everyday. Both comfortable and familiar, the rhymed text and the photos include the elderly and children of both genders (a reminder for those kids who doubt that siblings are a blessing). The blessings are numbered from one to ten, helping the text work as a counting book as well. For all Christian denominations, children ages 0 to 5. The heart of the Walking with God Board Books is the Gospel message of love. The books also affirm family love and essential values, using a fun format that will charm both adults and children. About the Author
Heidi Bratton is the author/photographer of Get Two-Gether, as well as the four original Walking with God books. Her work has also appeared in A Mother's Touch, A 2nd Helping of Chicken Soup for the Christian Soul, and Paulist Press's Hallelujah Hats. With five children, she speaks nationally about the joys of motherhood. She and her family live in Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
Sally Anne Conan is a freelance consultant for television. Many of her programs have been honored by awards, including the Freedom Foundation Award. She is the author of several children's books, including Paulist Press's™ Little Blessings, Look and See What God Gave Me, God's Best Gift, and Thank You, God. She lives in Camillus, New York.
