Reviews

YA-A treasure chest full of attractive paper-craft projects for every holiday. Leaning more toward Martha Stewart than the schoolhouse, this book is full of brilliant ideas, like Adirondack chairs, a picket-fence gift tote, a baby-shirt card, a jointed Santa card or ornament, and more than 50 other ideas. The book opens with information about the types of paper available and where to find them, and suggests useful tools. The crafts themselves are followed by patterns for each project. The instructions are highly detailed and sometimes complex, but most of the activities contain how-to drawings that show important details. Nicely laid-out photographs of the completed work provide a clear illustration of what crafters are working toward. Paper will never look the same to anyone who tries a hand at these projects. Texture, color, design, strength, and flexibility will all become new considerations in a material that YAs had previously used only to draw or write on.
