There are three sections (professional, college, and Olympic sports) with over 4000 entries subdivided alphabetically. Full descriptive data and contact information for each listing is provided. The 50 sports covered range from archery, biathlon, and canoeing to the luge, rodeo, tae-kwon-do, and yachting. The "big" four, baseball, basketball, football, and hockey, are also featured. Strictly participatory sports such as recreational softball or three-on-three basketball are not covered. Master name and keyword indexes make for ease of use. The index refers the reader to entry numbers rather than pages. This is a valuable reference work conveniently bound in one volume. Recommended for public libraries.
