About the Author
Charles P. Roland, Alumni Professor of History emeritus at the University of Kentucky, is the author of several books, including An American Iliad: The Story of the Civil War; Albert Sidney Johnston: Soldier of Three Republics; Louisiana Sugar Plantations during the Civil War; and My Odyssey through History.
