About the Author

Richard P. Smith is an award-winning outdoor writer and photographer living in Marquette, Michigan, who has hunted deer for almost 50 years. Most of the whitetails to his credit have been taken while stand hunting, including his biggest typical, a 10-pointer that qualified for honorable mention in Boone and Crockett Records. His writing and photography regularly appear in magazines such as Deer and Deer Hunting and North American Whitetail. He is the author of numerous books on hunting.
