About the Author
Priya Hemenway lived in the Far East for more than 20 years where she devoted herself to the study of some of the world's most ancient and glorious religions. Now a resident of Northern Claifornia, her previous work includes The Tao Box (0-8118-3369-0).

Here, she profiles 23 of Hinduism's most significant deities, beginning with "the eternal triad": the three energies of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, which together reflect the universal divine essence. The second section explores the 10 incarnations of Vishnu (including Rama and Krishna, the most famous incarnations), while the third presents various other gods and goddesses, such as Lakshmi (fortune and wealth), Parvati (consort of Shiva) and Sarasvati (wisdom).
