Part One covers menopause and its effects with details on causes, symptoms, hysterectomy, mood fluctuation, sexual functioning and weight gain. The next section addresses the complex subject of hormone replacement therapy?its benefits and risks, the growing number of options and how the menopausal woman can best effect a partnership with her doctor. The third section considers alternatives to hormone replacement, covering treatments with herbs, vitamins, biofeedback and acupuncture, along with recommendations for good nutrition and exercise.
