Risk, according to Michael Mandel, the economics editor of Business Week, is our friend: it is not only the grease that oils the wheels of capitalism, but an absolute necessity in the coming Age of Insecurity, when corporations come unmoored from their home nations, workers come unmoored from their lifelong jobs, and the notions of fiscal responsibility come unmoored from their original foundations of prudence and price-earnings ratios.
