Creeker: A Woman's Journey is the first in the Women in Southern Culture series from the University Press of Kentucky. Margaret Ripley Wolfe,professor of history at East Tennessee State Unviersity and author of Daughters of Canaan: A Saga of Southern Women, is the editor of the series.
Books in this series examine the experiences of women across the full range of southern history, with special attention to the influence of race, ethnicity, and class. In addition to individual biographies, the series includes intensive studies of particular groups during different eras in the region’s past. Though its focus is primarily historical, this interdisciplinary series also encompasses literary, sociological, and other approaches to the lives of southern women.
About the Author
A native of eastern Kentucky, Linda Scott DeRosier is professor of psychology at Rocky Mountain College in Billings Montana.
