Synopsis
A special feature of this level is the Review and Write Activity, appearing at sensible intervals through . out the workbook. These provide ample opportunity for application of skills. Working through them, the students apply their new skills, learn vocabulary in context, and practice important reading related writing skills. At this level the students receive intensive practice in structural analysis skills. They learn how meaningful word parts such as prefixes, roots, and suffixes help them decode unfamiliar words and build their vocabulary. The syllabication exercises help the students break an unknown word into decodable parts so that knowledge of phonics and structural analysis can be applied. The exercises focusing on dictionary skills help students discover how these useful reference books can help them become better readers and more effective writers.
