Donkey has worked for fifteen years for the Miller and his wife. When he overhears them saying they will sell him soon, he runs away. He plans to go to Bremen. On the way he meets a Dog, a Cat and a Rooster. Like Donkey, each of them is running away and, like Donkey, they all want to be musicians. They decide to band together. Further along the road they meet a gang of robbers...Will they ever get to Bremen and become musicians? A play for children adapted from the Grimms' fairy-tale by Dianne Bates.
