The authors briefly profile 20 women who have become successful veterinarians, each of whom tells her own life story. Although most of the women are engaged in private practice, a few work in regulatory areas, industry, and other branches of veterinary medicine, indicating the wide variety of opportunities available. Their stories demonstrate that women who choose careers in veterinary medicine can enjoy both successful and productive personal and professional lives. This book would be a valuable addition to high school, college, and public library career collections.
