This is a critical edition which includes an introduction that traces the composition and plublication of the two stores, critical commentary on both, and a discussion of the revisions which Yeats made when the stories were reprinted in 1908. The text of the stories are based on the 7th volume of the "Collected Works in Verse and Prose" 1908. All textual variants between that printing and the New York and London editions of "John Sherman and Dhoya" in 1891 are cited in notes at the bottom of each page.
