About the Author
Aleya Rouchdy, a professor of Arabic and linguistics at Wayne State University, received her Ph.D. from the University of Texas, Austin. Her most recent book is titled Nubians and the Nubian Language in Contemporary Egypt: A Case of Cultural and Linguistic Contact.
