About the Author
Gustav Carlson (Larchmont, NY) is head of corporate communications and spokesperson for Barnes & Noble.com. Previously, he served as vice president and director of media relations at PaineWebber and as vice president and senior counselor for Hill and Knowlton, Inc. He is also a former business editor for The New York Times and The Miami Herald.
