Reviews

Chiropractor Harwin and business writer Haynes call the now too-familiar roll of ailments associated with computer use: repetitive stress injury; eye problems; headache; tinnitus; head, neck, and back strain; pregnancy complications; stress; monitor (VLF, ELF) radiation. They offer a large ameliorative armory of ailment-specific exercises, 27 "quick fix" bandaids, and some diet advice. Ills likely to afflict workplace users are sometimes confused with those to be feared by hobbyists, but a chapter for supervisors indicates that workplace solutions to computer ailments differ from those used by hobbyists and aren't under individual control. The authors' review of VDT radiation summarizes current knowledge and evaluates protections. Recommended for public and business libraries.
