Architectural libraries are replete with surveys of western architecture. Over 1000 pen-and-ink sketches of buildings, plans, and architectural details illustrate major works in Europe and North America. Aimed towards general readers, this work covers considerable groundover 3000 yearsin slightly over 200 pages. Despite some rather crude sketches and some odd choices of supposed world events, the book succeeds in providing a solid overview of western architecture. H.
