About the Author:

Kathryn Cullen-DuPont is the author of The Encyclopedia of Women's History in America, which the New York Public Library named an Outstanding Reference Book in 1997. She is also the co-author of Women's Suffrage in America, which was described by The Washington Spectator as "one of the best recent books on the subject of women and the vote," and of Women's Rights on Trial, which Choice called "a highly readable and fascinating portrait of the many ways the law has affected women's lives."

Ms. Cullen-DuPont was a member of the advisory board for the Primary Source Media CD-ROM, American Journey: Women in America. She is also the permanent consultant on women's issues for Grolier's New Book of Knowledge Encyclopedia and a contributing author to the Academic American Encyclopedia. A frequent guest lecturer at educational institutions, she is a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors and a member of that organization's WriteSpeakers Referral Service. She lives in Brooklyn, New York, where she is currently at work on a novel.
