About the Author:

Sherry Marker earned a B.A. in ancient Greek from Radcliffe College and an M.A. in ancient history at the University of California, Berkeley, USA. She has taught at Westfield State College, Elms College, and Smith College, USA. Marker is a freelance writer who has written extensively on many topics, among them American history and travel. In particular she has researched and written about the Civil War and the Plains Indians wars.
