In 1904, forty foundlings from New York City were placed in Arizona foster homes, an insignificant incident if references to it in Arizona histories is a criteria. Upon close inspection however, this incident becomes quite revealing, for it managed to rip back the fragile fabric that was covering a restless and haunting spectre of intolerance in our nation.
