About the Author:
Al Satterwhite is a veteran photographer who has been published in major magazines such as Life, Look, Newsweek, People, Fortune, Geo, Sports Illustrated, Time, Car & Driver, Money, Travel & Leisure to name a few. Published photographic books of his work include The Cozumel Diary (adventures with Hunter S. Thompson in Mexico), Titans, the Racers and Carroll Shelby. He's currently working on two more books, These Americans and The Southerners, featuring his iconic images from the sixties and seventies. His photographic prints are in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, Houston Fine Art Museum, Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), George Eastman House, Polaroid Collection, National Museum of African American History and Culture, and numerous private collections. Satterwhite lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two Zen-Masters, both of them cats.
