The Editor: Gerhart Hoffmeister was born in Germany and attended schools in Europe and the United States. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland and is currently professor of German and Comparative Literature at the University of California, Santa Barbara. His most recent books include Goethe und die europäische Romantik and European Romanticism: Literary Cross-Currents (ed.)
Gerhart Hoffmeister ist gebürtiger Deutscher und studierte an deutschen und amerikanischen Universitäten. Seinen Doktorhut erwarb er an der University of Maryland. Seit mehreren Jahren unterrichtet er deutsche und vergleichende Literaturwissenschaft an der University of California, Santa Barbara. Zu seinen jüngsten Veröffentlichungen zählen Goethe und die europäische Romantik und European Romanticism: Literary Cross-Currents. (Hrsg.).
