Creating a peaceful and sustainable global future is as much an ethical and spiritual matter as an economic, social, and legal one. To respond to the challenges resulting from today’s global economic and ecological interdependence, twenty-one distinguished scholars from the world’s major religions describe their traditions’ contributions to the development of a shared global ethic respectful of national, cultural, and religious diversity, and its applications in humane and effective global governance structures and systems. They show how each tradition frames comprehensive values for human society, contains seeds of world systems thinking, and approaches multireligious initiatives. About the Author
The Editors: Patricia M. Mische, Ed.D., is Co-Founder and President Emerita of Global Education Associates and Lloyd Professor of Peace Studies and World Law at Antioch College. Her works include Toward a Human World Order: Beyond the National Security Straitjacket (1977, with Gerald Mische) and Ecological Security and the United Nations System: Past, Present and Future (1998). She has lectured worldwide on issues of peace, human rights, environment and development, and alternative world futures.
Melissa Merkling has edited numerous Global Education Associates publications since 1985.
