Synopsis

This book is an optional module within the scope of a European Master Course of study about European perspectives on social inclusion. Written from a European point of view and containing perspectives from Germany, Sweden and Hungary, this book focuses on concepts, theories and research dealing with the social context of drug use; concepts and theories as historically and culturally bound entities, multicultural aspects of different approaches throughout Europe, the introduction of appropriate working methods (prevention and treatment), and the development of a sensitive and human approach to the problems associated with drug use.

About the Author

The Authors: Åse-Britt Falch worked as a Social Welfare Officer in the field of child protection and support for people with drug related problems. Today she works as a lecturer and programme leader in social care and social pedagogy at Karlstad University, Sweden.
Wolfgang Heckmann worked as a therapist with people with drug related problems. He has been an active researcher in the area of drug related problems for many years and has worked as a Professor in social psychology at the University of Applied Sciences Magdeburg-Stendal since 1993.
Sandor Lisznyai has conducted and has been involved in several research programmes in the fields of «therapeutic relationship» and «sub-clinical depressive symptoms». He worked with psychodrama training programmes for drug rehabilitation. Since 1997, he works as a counselling psychologist and assistant professor at ELTE University Budapest.
Die Autoren: Åse-Britt Falch war als Sozialarbeiterin auf dem Gebiet des Kinderschutzes und der Betreuung von Menschen mit Drogenproblemen tätig. Heute arbeitet sie als Dozentin und Programmleiterin für Sozialfürsorge und Sozialpädagogik an der Universität Karlstad in Schweden.
Wolfgang Heckmann arbeitete als Therapeut mit Drogenabhängigen. Seit vielen Jahren forscht er auf dem Gebiet des Drogenmissbrauchs. Seit 1993 ist er als Professor für Sozialpsychologie an der Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal tätig.
Sandor Lisznyai hat selbst und als Mitarbeiter zahlreiche Studien in den Bereichen «Therapeutische Beziehungen» und «Subklinische Depressionssymptome» durchgeführt. Er arbeitete außerdem mit Psychodrama-Trainingsprogrammen zur Drogenrehabilitation. Seit 1997 ist er beratender Psychologe und Dozent an der Budapester ELTE Universität.
