Review
Cat Parker has two objectives - keep up her appearance as a proper lady from New York and lure Jake Garrett into her web. Why? So she could kill him, just like she had vowed to do. She has spent the last three years waiting for the right time, and now, here in Millwood, she would be able to do just that. Hopefully, her new lady's clothes and behavior would even keep her real identity a secret from Jake until it was too late. Unfortunately, Cat hadn't counted on that old attraction to the darkly handsome gunslinger bubbling back up inside. Her reaction to his deep voice and smooth moves keeps her on her toes and Jake on her mind. As for Jake...well, he felt the heat pulsing in his veins the moment he laid eyes on Cat Parker. Oh, he doesn't remember ever having met this sweet, beautiful lady before, but he certainly intends to make her acquaintance as quickly as possible. And if things work out well, maybe she would even understand his past gunfighter days and realize that he was changing for good. He has plans to stay in Millwood, maybe even make a home for himself. Both Jake and Cat seek release from torrid pasts. The escalating desire between them is totally consuming, but it is a lack of trust that lies in wait to destroy each tender moment.
