Synopsis
Explains results in the theory of functions of several complex variables which were established from the late 19th century through the middle of the 20th century, and introduces the mathematical world created by Kiyoshi Oka (1901-1978). Part I treats analytic functions in a univalent domain in Cn. Part II treats analytic functions in an analytic space; this is a slight generalization of a ramified domain over Cn. Treatment encompasses areas such as implicit functions and analytic sets, holomorphic mappings, analytic spaces, and normal pseudoconvex spaces. First published in Japanese in 1996 by the University of Tokyo Press, Japan. Translated by Norman Levenberg (Auckland University) and Hiroshi Yamaguchi (Nara Women's University). Annotation c.
