Gr 7 Up--In a very pleasing format, this overview focuses on 12 interesting careers in the music industry and in other related areas. Careers vary from jazz drummer and vocalist to recording engineer and music therapist. Each section includes paths for entering a profession, recommendations for education and training, and job prospects. The book concludes with a list of organizations to contact for more information. Ample good-quality, full-color photos add to the attractive layout and well-written text. Although similar in content, this book is a step above others of its kind such as Jaq Greenspon's Career Portraits: Music (VGM Career Books, 1995). Teens who wish to explore the possibilities of a career in music cannot miss with Lee's book.
