There are many counting books that deal with cardinal numbers (1,2,3,etc), but this book teaches ordinal numbers as well-an important part of the kindergarten math curriculum. As an added bonus, children will have a great time trying to find the hidden wolf and hidden numbers in each spread.

About the Author

Trudy Harris writes books that both educate and entertain. She has written a number of successful math concept books, including: Pattern Bugs, 20 Hungry Piggies, Jenny Found a Penny, The Clock Struck One, and Tally Cat Keeps Track. Trudy loves reading picture books to her grandchildren and to her students at Temple View Elementary in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Andrew N. Harris is the illustrator of eight children's books including: 20 Hungry Piggies: A Number Book (2007) and Tally Cat Keeps Track (2010) by Trudy Harris, and the Body Battles (2009) series by Vicki Cobb. In addition to a B.F.A. in illustrating from Art Center College of Design, Andrew has an Associate's Degree from Brigham Young University Idaho. Andrew lives in Rigby, Idaho, with his wife and three children.

What they don't notice is the infamous wolf straight out of The Three Little Pigs. True to form, he craves pork chops and seems destined to have his meal-until he stops to count only 19 porkers. Greed makes him the victim of a stampede when the 20th one, who has been napping, rings the dinner bell. Hilarious color cartoon illustrations show pigs with plenty of personality, each prominently displaying a number while that same number is hidden somewhere on the spread, along with the sneaky wolf.
