The fascinating and natural conditions of the coast, which are difficult to tackle, are the framework for these twenty-five projects scattered around the world. The owners use the cottages as second homes. Therefore, their use--which is different from a conventional residence--determines the important factors for each project. These houses are designed to accommodate occupants for short periods of time throughout the year, to house two or more family groups, or to serve as cabins that fulfill the basic needs for living.
About the Author
Alejandro Bahamón studied architecture in Bogotá, Colombia, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the School of Architecture in Barcelona, Spain. In addition to his work as an architect, he writes for the Colombian magazine Arquitecturas and has collaborated on several book projects. He lives in Barcelona, Spain.
