An opening situational paragraph introduces an idea that is then explained in the chapter. Occasional black-and-white and color photos support the text. While the author touches on many of the same issues, this volume is less detailed than Harriet Brown's The Babysitter's Handbook (Pleasant Company, 1999) and Debra Zakarin's The Ultimate Babysitter's Handbook (Price Stern Sloan, 1997).
