This book precedes the title "The Innovation Turing Machine" by the same author.
Prof. Gideon Samid, PhD, heads the Innovation Appraisal Group at Case Western Reserve University. A Chemical and Nuclear Engineer by education, an inventor, and manager of innovation by trade. His career path developed through NASA, Exxon, SAC, and Presearch Inc. before founding his own innovation management services company: D&G Sciences Virginia Technology Corporation. In the 90s Dr. Samid originated a new discipline which became his trade mark: estimating the effort needed to achieve R&D objectives. In other words: estimating the cost-to-complete, and the time-to-finish innovation intensive projects. In this quest Gideon developed the foundation of The General Theory of Innovation; defining innovation as a knowledge realization process, and formulating an exact mathematical definition of the knowledge-left-to-be realized. Tracking that metrics is the way to estimate R&D progress. This estimation is based on mapping the innovation process on a generic roadway, dubbed the Innovation Turing Machine. As head of the Innovation Appraisal Group at Case Western Reserve University, Dr. Samid continues his research into The General Theory of Innovation, developing its academic footprint, and its industrial impact.
