...Alt did his homework to make learning fun for adults and children. My own curiosity was piqued as I turned the pages...Not only do readers learn about the cog railway that once traveled up Green Mountain, which was renamed Cadillac Mountain, they also learn who Robert Abbe and George Dorr were and what they did. Readers also can learn to search for glacial erratics and the animals, both land and sea, that can be spotted in our celebrated park...This is a great book for children looking to teach their parents a few historical facts about the island as their families traverse Acadia National Park.
(Sarah Hinckley, Mount Desert Islander)This is a book on a mission. Alt aims to inspire kids to explore our national parks and he does that by presenting fun facts in an imaginative way. (The new book is the third in his series.) In this installment, Tommy and his sister are racing against time to solve a mystery in the Acadia National Park in Maine.
(Carol Motsinger, "Cincinnati Enquirer")These are absolutely adorable books...There are maps to interact with...A fun story and a guide for families planning a trip...
